NACJR HEPTA Collective ProjectsThe ConceptNACJR is forming seven HEPTA Collective teams across the United States. Each collective comprises seven members: one Concours Charter Member, one Individual Charter Member, one Legacy Judge, one Classic Member, and one Hybrid Member. Up to two additional members may be added to each collective from any category, including the NACJR Speaker’s Bureau and the Collector’s Category. All contributors must be active NACJR members. The PlanAs individual HEPTA groups form, they may select one of the projects listed. They are responsible for taking their project from start to finish. Some projects will take a few weeks, while others will be longer-term. Each member is expected to take an active role in developing their project to completion. The open exchange of ideas and information is enhanced when perspectives from across the country and from different teams are considered. Team members select a project leader. The leader can be anyone on the team except Hybrids. Hybrids are primarily there to learn and contribute but are not expected to take a leadership role unless the team supports them, given their business acumen, leadership qualities, and dedication to the project. The VariablesHEPTA Collectives are encouraged to remain with their original teams throughout project development. They may leave their team, form a new team, and take on a new project only after completing the current one. The core concept is to keep fresh ideas and energy flowing. Highly synergistic teams may also choose to remain together to work on additional projects. A waiting list can be established for those who wish to join another team when a slot becomes available. The TimingEach team will set a start date and a target completion date. Once the final proposal and recommendation are submitted to NACJR, they will be reviewed and approved for implementation. Some projects will be ongoing, so no specific end date will apply. Collaborative sessions can be held in person or online via Zoom, FaceTime, Microsoft Teams, email, text, or phone. The leader sets the meeting days and times and submits an agenda to NACJR, along with comprehensive notes on the team’s progress. The ProjectsThe following projects have been identified as NACJR’s key areas of focus for the HEPTA Collective teams. They are intended as thought starters and may be refined or redesigned to help the team fulfill its mission. Additional projects may be added based on a team’s ideas or concerns regarding concours, judges, collectors, exhibitors, attendees, sponsors, charitable causes, or any other topic related to this profession. Such suggestions shall be submitted in writing to NACJR’s Founder/Director for prior approval. The idea behind this concept is to bring together members who want a voice in shaping the future of concours judging by joining a proactive team of women and men who are not only thinkers but also doers. NACJR is dedicated to honoring the past while helping to shape the future of concours judging by including a wide range of perspectives. Choose carefully. Select a project that speaks to you—it should be a topic you truly care about and that you will enjoy collaborating on with others. Membership in the registry is mandatory. Once interest in a project is expressed, NACJR management will launch that team.
