For more than a century, Concours d’Elegance events have honored the world’s most significant automobiles. As standards have evolved, so have the judges' and host concours' responsibilities to their exhibitors and collectors.
The National Automotive Concours Judges Registry (NACJR) is an independent, collaborative registry dedicated to supporting the judges entrusted with fairly and equitably evaluating automotive excellence. Professional judges are revered for their insights, knowledge, and expertise in judging a wide range of vehicles and classes. Their experience can vary greatly depending on their individual backgrounds, early exposure to motor vehicles, and passion for a particular class of automobile or motorcycle. Nearly every concours-level judge started out showing their personal vehicle at a local show, then realized that the more they knew about what judges were looking for, the more they wanted to become one. Over time, they seized opportunities that helped build their reputation. Some were fortunate to be mentored and sought training offered by car clubs, and others were simply "connected" through other judges. Now that the number of concours and major car shows around the country has risen to over 100, the call for new judges is imperative. NACJR is here to help fill the gap.
The National Automotive Concours Judges Registry (NACJR) exists to strengthen, unify, and elevate the automotive judging profession — not by governing it, but by connecting it. We do not control judging practices, sanction events, or replace or influence concours leadership.
Instead, NACJR provides a neutral forum and professional resource for those who genuinely care about excellence in judging.
NACJR serves as an independent, collaborative registry where concours judges, apprentices, historians, restorers, and event leaders can:
For over a century, Concours have elevated the judging of motor vehicles.
